Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh and batter Rahul Tripathi have failed to make it to the Indian playing XI for the second T20I against Ireland. The match is underway at The Village in Dublin. India is leading the two-match T20I series 1-0, after a comfortable win in the first T20I. Skipper Hardik Pandya made three changes for the second T20I, however, Tripathi and Arshdeep could not find a place in the playing XI.
Arshdeep Singh has been part of the Indian setup for a while but is yet to make his debut. He was also part of the Indian team in the recently concluded T20I series against South Africa. Many felt that the pacer might get a chance in the first T20I against Ireland. However, the Indian team went ahead with Umran Malik.
Similarly, Sanju Samson has been chosen ahead of Rahul Tripathi for the second T20I. Sanju has the experience of playing at the International level. However, he hasn’t been able to make much of an impact. On the other hand, this is Rahul Tripathi’s maiden International series. He has been in good form this year. In the IPL 2022 season, he scored 413 runs at an average of 37.55 and a strike rate of 158.23.

The Indian team made three changes in the squad, bringing in Sanju Samson in place of injured Ruturaj Gaikwad. Meanwhile, Harshal Patel replaced Avesh Khan, and Ravi Bishnoi came in place of Yuzvendra Chahal. The fans were disappointed with the non-inclusion of Rahul Tripathi and Arshdeep Singh in the playing XI.
Let’s take a look at how the fans reacted to Rahul Tripathi and Arshdeep Singh’s non-inclusion:
No Arshdeep Singh and Rahul Tripathi 😕
Now I don't see them making their international debut anytime soon.#IREvIND— Cric Top Class (@crictopclass) June 28, 2022
I would have liked to see Rahul Tripathi and Arshdeep Singh make their debuts. Ireland would have been a perfect opportunity for them, they have been consistent performers in the IPL too. The likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar could afford to be rested. #IREvIND

Disappointment for arshdeep singh…He could have make his debut today in place of bhuvaneshvar kumar…Touring since south africa series…If u rest chahal then why not bhuvi.@vikrantgupta73 @IrfanPathan

Unreal bias against Arshdeep tbh, out of my understanding how come he isn't in 11 against Ireland atleast

Bechare tripathi aur arshdeep . Accha perform krte hai phir bhi chance ni milta.

Would have certainly given a chance to @rahultripathi instead of @IamSanjuSamson. Latter has had fair share of opportunities at highest level in past, but never performed.
Need a visionary in this team management.#IREvIND #RahulDravid— Virendra (@jolly_virendra) June 28, 2022
Ye Arshdeep Singh se khaas hi dushmani hai kya kuch ? Sab aire gairo ko try karwa dia par jo deserve karta usko chodke .#IREvIND

The wait continues for Rahul Tripathi.. #IREvIND

Should've rested Bhuvi and given Arshdeep a go! Sad. India needlessly conservative as usual. Don't understand this, Bhuvi and Chahal have played so much they are plug and play options.

Arshdeep is the one person suffering

One season wonders like Chetan sakariya and 160 km/hr merchant umran got chance ahead of arshdeep— Cover drive (@Viratkafan23) June 28, 2022
India loses Ishan Kishan early in the second T20I
The Indian skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bat first in the second T20I against Ireland. Ishan Kishan walked out to open the innings, with a new opening partner Sanju Samson. However, his stay at the crease could not last more than five deliveries.
In the third over, Ishan Kishan got out for three runs by Mark Adair. The Irish pacer bowled a delivery angling away from Ishan Kishan and getting some extra bounce. Ishan widely swung his bat, but got a top-edge and was caught by wicket-keeper Lorcan Tucker. Meanwhile, Deepak Hooda joined Sanju Samson at the crease. India is 13/1 after 2.1 overs.
