The rise of Afghanistan in International cricket has been one of the most inspirational journeys ever. After attaining their test status last year, the team has literally performed well in most of the tournaments by proving their class and their “Don”t give up” attitude is being applauded by fans all over the world. The side defeated other nations in the qualifiers and booked their ticket to the World Cup 2019.
If the side is known for their hitting and spinning skills in the middle, they are a completely different one off the field. An example for the same has been shared by ICC on their official social media handles. Their stars Mohammed Shahzad, Rashid Khan were seen dancing alongside skipper Gulabdin Naib. It turned out to be a funny one as Shahzad was trying to keep them constantly engaged and wanted them to try some steps.
Mohammed Shahzad has now been injured and the team is in a worry to fill his place by a quality batsman at the top. Though the replacement has been named, it will be interesting if any other member gets a chance in the squad. Afghans are yet to open their account in the points table. They faced defeats against Australia and Srilanka.
Afghanistan will face NewZealand tomorrow. Blackcaps have won two of their two games and they will be looking forward to continue their winning streak while Afghans will be looking to make some quick progress in the 10-team tournament.
