The fourth edition of TNPL begun yesterday and a month of cricketing action is all set to capture the public attention. Kedar Jadhav, the Indian middle-order batsman was one of the chief guests to inaugurate the tournament.
8 teams will be participating in the tournament. The tournament would follow a round-robin complemented with playoffs style of play.
The first game was played between Dindigul Dragons, headed by Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and Chepauk Super Gillies. Ashwin”s side had the last smile as they won the game by 15 runs in a below-par scoring affair.
The skipper led his team from the front scoring 37 off just 19 deliveries. He was bowled tight lines and gave away 24 runs in his 4 overs.
But there was one moment that caught everybody”s attention. It came in the final over of the game when Chepauk needed 17 runs off final two deliveries to win the game.
Ashwin decided to do something out of the ordinary. He bowled a ball without any movement of his non-working arm! This bowling action left all the fans perplexed. Soon this started to trend on social media.
Also if you are questioning the legality of this, it is absolutely legal! Ashwin has a knack of doing interesting things on the field. People watch these T20 leagues for entertainment and Ashwin made sure the fans are entertained.

Till last week Ashwin was representing the Notts in county cricket. He proved his class as a reliable all-rounder as he shined with a 12-wicket haul as well as an unbeaten 66 in a game against Surrey. Two matches are set to take place today on account of the weekend.
