Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane Lead Wishes On International Women’s Day

Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and several other Indian cricketers wished a happy women’s day and acknowledged strong women all around the globe. Every year March 8 is celebrated as International Women’s Day worldwide. Today cricketers on Twitter posted heartfelt tweets and acknowledged the contribution of every woman.

Women’s day is regarded upon as a recognition of women, to cherish their presence around the world and appreciate their contributions in daily life as well as value the different roles they play, such as that of creators, sports personalities, entrepreneurs, homemakers, etc.

As expected Indian cricketers such as Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Mayank Agarwal, Yuzvendra Chahal and others lauded the contribution of women in their lives. The Indian captain Virat Kohli posted a photo of wife Anushka Sharma with daughter Vamika that melted everyone’s hearts on the occasion of Women’s day.

“Seeing the birth of a child is the most spine chilling, unbelievable and amazing experience a human being can have. After witnessing that, you understand the true strength and divinity of women and why God created life inside them. It’s because they are way stronger than us men. Happy Women’s Day to the most fiercely, compassionate and strong woman of my life and to the one who’s going to grow up to be like her mother  And also a Happy Women’s Day to all the amazing women of the world”, wrote Kohli on Instagram.

The Indian cricketers are currently enjoying a few days off before they again go through the grind during the T20I series against England. Under the leadership of Kohli, India came back from behind and defeated England by 3-1 and finally qualified for the ICC world Test championship final.

Team India will now be playing 5 match T20I and 3 matches ODI series against England in March. Post that the focus will shift to IPL 2021 as the tournament will be played between April 9-May 30.
