Star Indian batter Virat Kohli couldn’t hold back his laughter after captain KL Rahul made an unusual referral during the third ODI against South Africa. The match is taking place at Visakhapatnam on Saturday, December 6, with India having won the toss and chosen to bowl first. The incident happened in the 41st over, bowled by Kuldeep Yadav.
On the third delivery, Kuldeep bowled a slightly short ball that stayed low. South African batter Keshav Maharaj attempted a shot on the off-side but only managed an under-edge. The ball then struck KL Rahul, positioned behind the stumps, on his pads and fell to the ground. Although the ball passed between his boots, it was clearly touching the pitch.
As Rahul was getting up, the ball brushed his glove and pads before hitting the ground, yet he surprisingly went ahead with a caught-behind referral, prompting Kohli’s hilarious reaction. As KL Rahul made the referral, Virat Kohli couldn’t contain his laughter. Kohli fell on the ground laughing and pointed at Kuldeep, who was laughing too. You can watch the moment here:
