Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were shocked after Hardik Pandya dropped a sitter in the final ODI in Pune. After picking 2 quick wickets for a moment it looked India will also dismiss Ben Stokes when he skied a length delivery of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Stokes mistimed the shot completely and Hardik who was stationed on the ring at mid-off was straightaway in business.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma In Shock As Hardik Pandya Drops A Simple Catch

The ball went miles in the air and Hardik had to run back to complete the catch. Hardik eventually dropped a very simple chance and Stokes got a reprieve early in his innings. When the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and the rest saw Hardik under the ball they were ready to celebrate the wicket of Stokes which unfortunately didn’t happen. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were shell-shocked, to say the least after the drop and Hardik too was extremely annoyed.

Even the players sitting in the dugout couldn’t believe it as Hardik is usually a very safe catcher. The hero of the last ODI Ben Stokes got a life and India missed a big opportunity to put England on the backfoot. Coming back to the drop, Rohit Sharma was down on the ground when Hardik dropped it whereas captain Kohli was also visibly upset as Hardik should have snaffled that easy chance.

Meanwhile, the drop chance didn’t hurt India much as Stokes was soon after dismissed for 35 by T. Natarajan. The England all-rounder was caught at the deep square leg fence by Shikhar Dhawan much to the relief of Hardik Pandya. After Dhawan completed the catch Hardik was seen thanking him as he had dropped Stokes which could have been game-changing. Nevertheless, England is currently 68 for 3 and they are chasing a target of 330 in the ODI series decider.
