England’s stand-in skipper Jos Buttler plucked a one-handed stunner to end brilliant innings of Rishabh Pant in the 3rd ODI in Pune. Pant once again showed his class and played his natural game when India had lost 3 quick wickets. After the wicket of captain Virat Kohli, Pant backed himself to take on the spinners and hit big strokes. The Indian wicket-keeper batsman activated his beast mode against Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali and smashed them all around the ground.

He was given support by Hardik Pandya who himself hit some massive sixes against the England spinners. The partnership of Pant and Hardik gave India much needed momentum as they are now heading towards a massive total. Talking about Pant he again batted like a dream and once again proved why he should an automatic selection in all three formats.

When it looked that Pant will score his maiden ODI century he was removed by England courtesy of a splendid catch by skipper Jos Buttler. Rishabh Pant closed the bat face a little early while trying to flick the ball for a single and got an outside edge. The ball flew to Buttler behind the stumps and his quick reflexes helped him to take the catch.

Jos Buttler plucked his left hand out and caught the ball and ended the knock of Rishabh Pant who was taking the match away from England. The England skipper was elated after the catch as he knew the importance of the wicket of a well-set Pant. The 23-year-old scored 78 in just 62 deliveries and his knock included 5 boundaries and 4 sixes.

Meanwhile, after the wicket of Pant, England has made a comeback in the game as India are now 283 for 6. Hardik Pandya too against the run of play was bowled for 64 runs which was another big blow to team India. Krunal Pandya and Shardul Thakur will now be aiming to take the Indian total to around 350 runs which will be a very stiff target for India.
