Meanwhile, Former South African pacer Allan Donald recalled the incident when Kohli said him that India will become the number one Test team.

During the interaction on the YouTube channel “Cricket Life Stories”, former South African pacer Allan Donald recalled that Kohli said to him in 2015 that India will become the number one ranked Test team, which eventually came true. Allan Donald asserted:

 “I remember Virat’s words in 2015 when he said to me India will become world’s No.1 Test team and he wasn’t wrong. He knew where he was going.

I want us to be the greatest team on the planet : Virat Kohli told Allan Donald

Allan Donald revealed that the current Indian skipper told him, that he wanted India to be the fittest team. Also, Kohli wanted India to become the greatest team on the planet. He wanted India to have a great bowling attack.

I want this to be the fittest team, I want us to be the greatest team on the planet, knowing that we can play away from home, knowing we can beat anyone and that’s going to take a very good bowling attack to do so.”: said, Allan Donald

Notably, this statement by Donald came just one day after India’s victory over England at Lord’s Test. Virat Kohli led India beat Joe Root led England by the huge margin of 151 runs. The pace battery of India did an amazing job as they bowled out England before 55 overs on the final day.

Meanwhile, England will face off India in the third Test match which is scheduled to take place at Headingley, Leeds. The match will begin on Wednesday 25 August
