Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood heaped praise on Team India cricketer Virat Kohli. He feels that the right-handed batter’s work ethic stands out from the rest of the players. Hazlewood shared the dressing room with Virat Kohli at the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. The duo will be playing against each other in the upcoming World Test Championship final, which begins on June 7.

Josh Hazlewood has been a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the last two years. He has played several matches with the former Indian skipper and has observed his work ethic closely. While speaking to the ICC, ahead of the World Test Championship final, Josh Hazlewood spoke about Virat Kohli. He said,

“I think it’s probably how hard he works (that stands out). His fitness first of all – and then his skill work and batting and fielding in particular.”

“He is always out there (training) first and leaves last. And the intensity he trains at all the time is at such a high level it drags everyone else along for the ride. That can leak onto the other players and improve them as well,” he added.

He is up there at the top of the wickets every time: Josh Hazlewood on Mohammed Siraj

Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood also spoke about his Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate Mohammed Siraj. He expressed that the Indian pacer was excellent despite the placid pitch nature at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Siraj picked up 19 wickets in fourteen games at an average of 19.74 and an economy rate of 7.50 runs.

“I was a bit late getting there (to RCB this year), but before then he was on fire. He is up there at the top of the wickets every time, and the economy rate was probably the thing as bowling at Chinnaswamy (RCB’s home ground) is impossible sometimes and he was going at six or six-and-a-half an over. His control was great and he is bowling well,” said Josh Hazlewood to the ICC.
