Punjab Kings pacer Arshdeep Singh has performed impressively well for the franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. He has emerged as a death-overs specialist over the last few years.
Arshdeep proved to be an asset in the death overs, with his ability to bowl consistent yorkers. In the Indian Premier League 2022 season, the pacer picked ten wickets in fourteen matches. His stats won’t reveal how good he was in the death overs for the Kings. The pacer has been included in the Indian team for the South Africa series.
Speaking to the NDTV, Arshdeep credited his coach Jaswant Rai and PBKS bowling coach Damien Wright for his success. He stated,
“I guess it is all about repetition. Yorker is a delivery that you learn to perfect after bowling it ball after ball. It is based on how you feel on that day and how the wicket is. The credit goes to my bowling coach Jaswant Rai and also the bowling of PBKS– Damien Wright. They have worked a lot with me, before the match, Wright used to tell me that I should practice bowling yorkers with the wet ball as well because if dew comes in, then there are chances of missing the yorkers.”
Arshdeep Singh added that he wants to work on his consistency and improve as a bowler. He expressed that he wants to learn from Paras Mhambrey and Rahul Dravid during his time with the Indian team.
“I want to work on my consistency. I want to be more consistent. Bowling coach Paras Mhambrey sir would be there, Rahul Dravid sir would be there, I will try to pick their brains and I will try to figure out in what mental state the player should be in,” he said.
