Wasim Jaffer Comes Up With A Witty Reply To Michael Vaughan After India Lose To South Africa

Wasim Jaffer

Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer has come up with a witty reply to Michael Vaughan, who trolled him after India lost the three-match series against South Africa 2-1. Virat Kohli & Co lost two matches on the trot, losing the final Test by seven wickets at Newlands in Cape Town.

Vaughan and Jaffer are known for their funny exchanges on social media. They have been indulging in constant banter on social media between each other since India’s Test series in Australia in 2020-21.

After South Africa’s convincing win, Michael Vaughan took a funny dig at Wasim Jaffer. Taking to Twitter, he wrote:

“Evening @WasimJaffer14 !! Just checking you are ok.”

Meanwhile, Wasim Jaffer is not someone, who gets bogged down and came up with a witty response taking a dig at Michael Vaughan and England. He responded:

“Haha all good Michael, don’t forget we are still leading you 2-1.”

Incidentally, Wasim Jaffer was referring to the Test series between India and England in 2021. After the opening game of that series ended in a draw, India won at Lord’s. England came back strongly in Headingley before the visitors came out on top at Oval in the fourth match.

The fifth and final Test was postponed after several COVID-19 cases emerged in the Indian camp. The final Test which was originally set to be played at Old Trafford, will now be played in Edgbaston in July 2022.

South Africa came into day 4 needing only 112 runs to win and seven wickets in hand. Young Keegan Petersen, who has been South Africa’s most successful batter in the series, once again steered the run chase along with Rassie van der Dussen.

He played some fine shots to reach his half-century. Just when he was looking good to reach the three-digit landmark, Petersen (82) chopped on onto his stumps off Shardul Thakur. Indian captain Virat Kohli tried all his tricks but apart from a couple of misses here and there, the Proteas didn’t give anything to the Indian bowlers.

Dussen (41*) and Temba Bavuma (32*) remained unbeaten as South Africa went home convincingly within a session and a half on day 4 at Newlands.
