Wasim Jaffer Wants This Man To Lead India In The 2023 World Cup

It would not be wrong to say, “What Sachin Tendulkar was to Indian International Cricket, Wasim Jaffer was to Indian Domestic Cricket.”

Wasim Jaffer the Indian batting maestro who amassed close to 20000-runs in the first class unit. A career over two decades certainly makes him a legend the Indian domestic circuit.

Jaffer also played cricket at the international level but could not have a career as fruitful as his domestic one. He played 31 Test Matches and scored just under 2000 runs in his career. He also played 2 One Day Internationals.

Now, he is the Batting Coach of the Bangladesh Cricket at the higher academy levels.

Following India”s exit from the Cricket World Cup, many past players and analysts have been quite vocal on all the social media platforms. Wasim Jaffer has been no less.

Post World Cup, Jaffer”s statements can be termed controversial. He wants a new white ball captain for team India. Yes! A new skipper.

Rohit Sharma has been a phenomenal IPL captain leading his franchise to a record 4th title win this year. He is Virat”s deputy and in his absence, leads the side. He even led India to an Asia Cup title last year, winning his first ever title as Indian skipper.

Along with his phenomenal leadership qualities, Rohit has produced stellar performances with the bat. He had a sensational World Cup which include record five centuries.

According to the skipper Virat Kohli, he always takes Rohit”s and MS” opinions into consideration.

In the past, Virat”s captaincy has been questioned by many analysts and reporters. He talks about taking brave decisions on the field and proceeding thereafter.

Even with Royal Challengers Bangalore, his tactics are promising but he fails to get the results. He sees the cause of RCBs failure as “poor decisions”.

Amidst all this, Virat Kohli has been an exceptional player while leading. He leads from the front and has set himself as an example for all the players.

With Virat Kohli”s promise and Rohit Sharma”s results, do you think it is time for Kohli to pass on the baton to Rohit?

Comment what do you think on the matter below.
