The second Test between India and South Africa at the Wanderers saw tempers flare with cricketers from both camps having a go at each other. Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah also had a couple of heated altercations with the opposition players.

On one occasion, Bumrah threatened the South African cricketers on day 4 when things didn’t work in India’s favour. The players were seen getting frustrated as the home side were getting away with easy runs.

In between the play, Hanuma Vihari suffered an injury as the play stopped with physio Nitin Patel running on the field to check on Vihari. In the background, a conversation was heard on a stump mic where Jasprit Bumrah was heard saying:

“Stump mic ke paas jaan bujhkar aaya mai, dekhte hai abhi next match baaki hai. Jitna abhi uchhalna hai uchhal sakte hai, abhi ek aur match hai! Jo log abhi sun rahe hai, sunn lo.”

Meanwhile, South Africa levelled terms in the three-match series. Chasing 240 for the win, Dean Elgar showed class and temperament to bat through to see the Proteas home despite some hostile bowling from the Indian bowlers. The southpaw was involved in sizeable partnerships with each and every batter as the home side levelled the three-match series.

Elgar was unbeaten on 96 and with good contributions from the top-order batters, who had failed until then, the hosts managed to chase down the record total.

The third and the final Test of the series is scheduled to commence on January 11 at the Newlands in Cape Town.
