Bellerive Oval in Hobart witnessed an ‘oh my gosh’ moment from West Indies all-rounder Akeal Hosein when Rovman Powell hit a monstrous six of 104m against Zimbabwe on Wednesday, October 19.

It was the last over of the West Indian innings, and Powell had already smashed a six on the first ball of the over mid-wicket. The third ball was a wide ball that had to be bowled again. Powell belts this ball into the stands, and the six and the ball travelled 104-meter into the stands.

The non-striker, Akeal Hosein, just couldn’t believe what unfolded before his eyes and his reaction to this shot went viral. Here’s the video of the reaction from Akeal Hosein shared by ICC:

Blessing Muzarabani, however, bounced back in the next ball by dismissing the hard-hitting Rovman Powell after already conceding 13 runs in his first three balls.

West Indies scored 153/7 at the end of their innings. Johnson Charles top scored for them scoring 45 of 36, which included three fours and two maximums. Apart from him, nobody made a mark in the innings. Skipper Nicholas Pooran was again dismissed cheaply, which will be a cause of concern for the West Indies side.

Amongst the bowlers, the player in form and player of the previous match, Sikander Raza returned with 3/19 in his four overs.

In response, Zimbabwe made a steady start, scoring 55/3 in the first six overs. Alzarri Joseph and Jason Holder wreaked havoc with the new ball. The duo shared seven wickets among them to bowl out Zimbabwe for 122 in 18.2 overs.

This result now means that all the teams in Group B have a win each and it’s all to play for. It will be interesting the teams from this group will their final game of qualifiers on Friday, October 21.
