[Watch] Animated Rahul Dravid As India Registers A Thrilling Victory Against West Indies

Team India got off to a winning start in the three-match ODI series against West Indies on Friday, July 22 at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad. The first ODI witnessed a thrilling encounter as the match went right down to the wire. The mood in the camp was tense as they needed to defend 15 runs off the last over. However, as Mohammed Siraj took them to victory by three runs, the celebrations galore in the Indian dressing room.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India shared a video on their social media profiles from the India camp from the final moments of the match. In the video, Indian head coach Rahul Dravid, who is usually a calm and composed person, looked animated. As the match concluded, the Indian players including the coach walked down the ground to shake hands with the players.

Posting the video on their Twitter handle, the BCCI wrote,No shortage of action & emotions! Scenes as #TeamIndia seal a thrilling win in the first #WIvIND ODI in Trinidad.”

There were nerves in the end and didn’t expect it to turn that way: Shikhar Dhawan

Indian skipper Shikhar Dhawan led the team from the front in the first ODI against West Indies on Friday at the Queen’s Park Oval. However, he fell just three runs short of his century in the first innings. The left-handed batter took India to 308 runs along with Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer who also made valuable contributions.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Shikhar Dhawan expressed that he is disappointed to not get the century but lauded the team’s performance. He also revealed what worked for India in the final moments. Shikhar Dhawan said,

“Disappointed not to get the 100, but it was a good effort by the team. We got a good score in the end. There were nerves in the end and didn’t expect it to turn that way. We kept our cool and one small change in the end where we pushed the fine leg back. That really helped us.”
