[WATCH] ‘Bahar Daalna Yaar!’ – Rishabh Pant Expresses Frustration Towards Khaleel Ahmed

Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant was angry with Khaleel Ahmed for not executing the bowling strategies effectively in the recent match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. The occurrence happened during the sixth over of the KKR innings. Phil Salt provided a strong start for the hosts, dominating his former team. By the end of the fifth over, KKR were at 61 without loss, pursuing a modest target of 154.

Salt had contributed 42 runs to that total, with Sunil Narine playing a supporting role. The responsibility fell on Khaleel Ahmed to bowl an effective sixth over and ensure DC finished the powerplay positively. Unfortunately, the left-arm pacer couldn’t meet expectations, facing a barrage from Salt who hit him for three fours and a six in the over. Khaleel started with a dot ball but then conceded a boundary.

The third delivery resulted in another dot before the DC bowler delivered one in the perfect spot. It was a full-length ball in Salt’s hitting zone, and he struck it over long-off for a six.

As Khaleel Ahmed conceded the six, cameras captured Rishabh Pant visibly upset, expressing his frustration towards his teammate. The wicketkeeper-batsman could be seen telling Khaleel, “Bahar daalna yaar.”

Regarding the match, KKR convincingly defeated DC by seven wickets, returning to winning form. Chasing 154, KKR reached the target in the 17th over. Salt shone with the bat, making 68 runs off just 33 deliveries, laying a strong foundation for the chase. Shreyas Iyer (33*) and Venkatesh Iyer (26*) then formed an unbeaten 57-run partnership to guide KKR to victory comfortably.

In the initial phase of the match, DC concluded their batting innings with a score of 153/9 after opting to bat first. DC suffered early setbacks, losing the wickets of Prithvi Shaw, Jake Fraser-McGurk, and Shai Hope within the powerplay and struggled to recover thereafter.

Kuldeep Yadav was the sole DC player to surpass the 30-run mark, scoring 35. Varun Chakravarthy took three wickets for KKR, while Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana secured two wickets each.

The Delhi Capitals will play against the Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 7th.
