[WATCH]- Ball Boy Attempts To Touch Rohit Sharma’s Feet Post RR vs MI Clash In IPL 2025

A ball boy was spotted attempting to touch the feet of Mumbai Indians’ (MI) veteran opener Rohit Sharma following their IPL 2025 victory over the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday, May 1.

A video shared on the social media platform X shows the ball boy first reaching out for a handshake with Sharma before making a move to touch his feet. However, the 38-year-old cricketer gently stopped him.

Rohit Sharma, the former MI captain, commands an enormous fan base, which has grown even more over the past year after he led India to triumph in both the 2024 T20 World Cup and the Champions Trophy earlier this year. As a result, MI games this season have consistently drawn large crowds across venues.

The right-handed batter delivered a steady and confident knock of 53 runs from 36 balls at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Thursday, marking his third fifty of the season. The 38-year-old has now accumulated 293 runs in 10 matches, averaging 32.55 with an impressive strike rate of 155.02, including a top score of an unbeaten 76.

Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton’s century opening stand powers MI to a winning total against RR

Rohit Sharma scored 53 as his 116-run opening stand with Ryan Rickelton, who top-scored with 61 (38), laid the foundation. Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya provided the finishing touch, both smashing unbeaten 48s off 23 balls to take the five-time champions to 217/2 in 20 overs.

With the ball, Deepak Chahar struck in the opening over to dismiss 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who had hit a 35-ball century in his previous outing against Gujarat Titans. Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah also chipped in with wickets, as RR collapsed to 47/5 in the powerplay, falling far behind the required run-rate.

Only five Rajasthan Royals batters reached double digits, with Jofra Archer top-scoring with 30 off 27. Boult and Karn Sharma picked up three wickets each to bowl RR out for 117 in 16.1 overs, sealing a commanding 100-run win for MI and pushing them to the top of the points table.
