Former India captain Virat Kohli didn’t have a good outing in the ongoing fifth Test match against England at Edgbaston in Birmingham. He scored 11 runs in the first innings and 20 runs in the second innings. In both the innings, Virat was dismissed in an unlucky manner. In the first innings , he got an inside edge while leaving the ball.

In the second innings, he was dismissed by Ben Stokes on a ball which got uneven bounce. Virat wasn’t happy with the way he was dismissed in both the innings. It seems like the whole world is against Virat. The England Barmy Army supporters also teased Virat while he was going to the pavilion.

Barmy Army supporters were seen waving their hands towards Virat to give him a send off. They also chanted ‘Cheerio’ from the stands to provoke Kohli. Virat ended the test series in England with a batting average of below 30 which is poor for the standards which Virat has set.

He will look to make a comeback in the white ball series against England. India will lock horns with England in a three-match T20I series, starting on 7th July. The former Indian captain will miss the first T20I against England after the selectors decided to rest the first-choice players. However, he would be available from the 2nd T20I on 9th July.

“It’s part and parcel of the game” – Bairstow on his verbal spat with Virat Kohli

The Indian team is currently in a dominating position in the test match. They have got a lead of 257 runs with 7 wickets still in hand. Cheteshwar Pujara has reached his half century. Earlier in the day, Jonny Bairstow scored a brilliant century to reduce the deficit margin for England. He also had a heated conversation with Virat Kohli.

However , Bairstow in press conference said that all is well between both of them. Bairstow said , “As I mentioned earlier, there was literally nothing. We’ve been fortunate to play against each other for ten years. So, I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to have dinner. Don’t worry about it. It brings the best out of us. Whatever it takes, you want to get your team over the line and that’s part and parcel of the game.”
