Washington Sundar has provided a much-needed breakthrough to Team India dismissing Jason Roy on 46 runs thanks to a brilliant catch from Bhuvneshwar Kumar to make a comeback in the 2nd T20I at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. England have got off to a brilliant start after asked to bowl first by Virat Kohli after winning the toss.

Meanwhile, 1-0 down in the series, Bhuvneshwar Kumar drew the first blood for India removing Jos Buttler early in the innings. Since then, Jason Roy and Dawid Malan took control over the scheme of things. They rotated the strike brilliantly while the odd boundaries kept coming as the runs mounted on steadily. Malan and Roy both looked a bit scratchy on a surface where it is difficult to play shots but were lucky to find the boundaries.

While it looked like England were once again for a dream finish, Yuzvendra Chahal struck Dawid Malan plumb in front. The umpire was not sure but Virat Kohli went for the review to overturn the decision. The momentum broke for England and India sneaked in with another wicket of set Jason Roy who missed his fifty by four runs. Incidentally, in the last game, Roy missed his half-century by one run during England’s thumping victory.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar takes a brilliant catch at the boundary

It was a full-length delivery and on the leg stump and Jason Roy went for a big shot to break the shackles. This is a massive ground, so Washington Sundar invited the shot with a big boundary in-store and hoped for a mistime on this not-so-batsman-friendly surface. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took a really good diving grab at deep square leg. It was not easy to judge the high ones on big grounds and he had great control over the catch to sent back Jason Roy packing.
