[WATCH]- Chakaravarthy Fires Back With Explosive Send-Off After Dismissing Markram In 2nd T20I

India’s mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy gave an animated send-off after dismissing South Africa’s captain Aiden Markram in the second T20I of their five-match series. The game took place on Thursday, December 11, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.

In the 12th over, Markram had put pressure on Varun, hitting consecutive sixes off the second and third balls. However, on the last delivery of the over, he attempted another big shot but mistimed it, sending the ball straight to Axar Patel at deep mid-wicket. Varun, visibly excited, gave the Proteas captain a fiery send-off.

Chakaravarthy Strikes Twice As De Kock Punishes Indian Bowlers

South Africa, put in to bat first, began strongly as openers Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks added 38 runs in the opening four overs. Varun Chakaravarthy entered the attack in the fifth over and struck immediately, sending Hendricks back for eight off 10 balls. Aiden Markram arrived at No. 3, while de Kock kept attacking and brought up a rapid and confident half-century in just 26 deliveries.

The duo stitched together a solid 83-run stand off 47 balls for the second wicket before Varun Chakaravarthy claimed his second scalp, dismissing Aiden Markram for 29 off 26. At the time of writing, South Africa were cruising at a commanding 156/2 after 15 overs, with de Kock unbeaten on 90 and Dewald Brevis on 14.

Earlier in the series, India secured a dominant 101-run win in the first T20I on December 9 in Cuttack, successfully defending a competitive 175 with disciplined bowling.
