Watch: Comedy Of Errors As Sri Lanka Miss Out Easy Chance To Run-Out Maxwell And Inglis

The Sri Lankan Cricket Team is currently in Australia for a five-match T20I series. The second game of the series was played on Sunday and it was a complete thriller to watch. During the 12th over of the Australian innings, a bizarre incident happened which left the cricket fans in amazement.

Ball took the outside edge of Glenn Maxwell’s bat and raced towards the backward point fielder. Maxwell began to run for a single while simultaneously looking back towards the ball, which is regarded as a significant blunder in cricket since running and turning to the other side to watch the ball isn’t the ideal choice. This led to a mix-up between Maxwell and the non-striker Josh Inglis.

When the throw reached the Sri Lankan wicketkeeper Dinesh Chandimal, both the batters were found at the same end. Fortunately, the ball slipped out of keeper’s gloves allowing Maxwell to complete the single. “Batsmen were next to each other. They could have shook hands and had a cup of tea”, one of the commentators exclaimed.

Australia win the Super Over to take a 2-0 lead in the series

In the second T20I of the five-match series against Sri lanka , Australia won in a dramatic fashion at the SCG. The match was decided by a super-over after the scores of both the teams were tied at 164. For Australia, Josh Hazlewood bowled a terrific Super Over conceding just five runs. Australian batters easily scored the required runs and won the match.

In addition to the super-over heroics, Hazlewood also registered figures of 3/22 in his four-over spell. He was rightly named the Player of the Match. Other notable performances from the match included Josh Inglis’ 48-run knock off just 32 balls and Pathum Nissanka’s spirited 73-run effort.
