Speaking of the game, Pakistan pulled off a thrilling draw while chasing 560 runs. Skipper Babar Azam narrowly missed out on a double century when he was dismissed for 196 by Nathan Lyon while Mohammad Rizwan was unbeaten at 104 as Pakistan batted for over 170 overs to draw the Test match.
Babar said that their plan was to bat as long as possible and save the Test match. The 27-year-old stated:
“The plan was to bat session-by-session and build partnerships. It was a team effort, as others (Shafique and Rizwan) chipped in with useful contributions too. We took the onus and the main focus was to build partnerships right throughout the day.”
