Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) is at a crucial stage in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Currently, DC is at number five in the points table and is still in the race to qualify for the playoffs. DC’s recent victory against Rajasthan Royals (RR) should have brought some relief to the camp.

The Capitals’ fans got to see some casual moments from the team before the DC versus RR contest. The DC players welcomed Ricky Ponting with ‘Saiyyan,’ the song, as soon as the DC coach entered the team bus.

In the video posted by the official social media handle of the DC, Tim Seifert can be seen chanting Kailash Kher’s popular song ‘Saiyyan.’ Seifert was seen to be accompanied by his DC teammate and all-rounder Axar Patel. And when Ponting entered the team bus, the DC players welcomed their coach by singing the same song.

DC posted the video on Wednesday, May 11, and captioned it as “A Super Sei-yaaaaan welcome for the Boss #YehHaiNayiDilli | #IPL2022 | #RRvDC #TATAIPL | #IPL | #DelhiCapitals | | #DCAllAccess | @rickyponting | @tajmahalmumbai.” The video resulted to be a treat for DC fans as Rishabh Pant led side went on to win the match, that day.

Meanwhile, DC won the toss against RR and elected to field first at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. For RR, Ravichandran Ashwin and Devdutt Padikkal were the saviors as both aided RR to put on a respectable total of 160 for six.

DC’s pace trio Chetan Sakariya, Anrich Nortje, and Mitchell Marsh, picked up a couple of wickets each. In reply, DC lost opener Srikar Bharat in the first over of the innings. But later on, the Aussie duo, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh’s massive stand of 144 guided DC to their sixth win of the season.

The Capitals will face Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 16, at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai.
