[Watch] Dwayne Bravo Brings Out A New Celebration After Dismissing Venkatesh Iyer

Veteran Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Dwayne Bravo produced an unique celebration after dismissing Venkatesh Iyer in the IPL 2022 opener at the Wankhede Stadium. Meanwhile, batting first, the defending champions have posted 131/5, riding on MS Dhoni’s unbeaten 50.

Chasing a moderate total, veteran opener Ajinkya Rahane got the Kolkata franchise off to a flying start. He unleashed his strokes while Venkatesh adopted a cautious approach, taking seem time to get used to the conditions.

The two-time IPL champions raced to 43/0 at the end of the powerplay. Ravindra Jadeja immediately brought Dwayne Bravo into the attack who got the breakthrough, dismissing Venkatesh Iyer.

Bravo delivered a full delivery the pitched well wide of the off-stump. Venkatesh Iyer threw his hands on the drive but edges it behind. The West Indian immediately produced a new dance move to celebrate the wicket – swinging the hips with the right hand making a movement.

MS Dhoni powers Chennai Super Kings to 131

Asked to bat first in IPL 2022’s first match, Umesh Yadav racked up some good pace to reduce the defending champions to 29/2 in five overs. The veteran pacer got the better of openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway cheaply.

The Kolkata franchise continued to put pressure on CSK to have them 61/5 after 11 overs, which saw the arrival of MS Dhoni to the middle.

He took some time to settle in and initially struggled to get his timing right. But once he got his eyes in, the 41-year-old wicket-keeper batsman unleashed his shots.

Eventually, Dhoni remained unbeaten on 50 off 38 balls to propel the four-time IPL champions to 131/5, adding 70 runs with skipper Ravindra Jadeja for the sixth wicket.
