Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spinner Maheesh Theekshana married his girlfriend Arthika Yonali on Friday, January 17. The Sri Lankan cricketer’s wedding ceremony was held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo.
CSK took to Instagram to share a picture from the wedding, extending their congratulations to the 24-year-old. Arthika Yonali, who works as cabin crew, has frequently appeared on Theekshana’s social media.

In cricket, Maheesh Theekshana recently featured in Sri Lanka’s three-match ODI series against New Zealand earlier this month. He delivered a remarkable performance in the second match, securing a stunning hat-trick and becoming the seventh Sri Lankan to achieve this feat in ODIs.
Theekshana emerged as his team’s top wicket-taker in the series, claiming seven wickets in two games. Despite his efforts, New Zealand won the series 2-1, with Sri Lanka securing a consolation 140-run victory in the third ODI.
Maheesh Theekshana Parts Ways with CSK Ahead of IPL 2025 Mega Auction
Maheesh Theekshana made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2022 and spent three seasons with the franchise before being released ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. At the 2025 auction held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured the crafty off-spinner for ₹4.40 crore after a fierce bidding battle with Mumbai Indians (MI).
During his tenure with CSK, Theekshana claimed 25 wickets in 27 matches, maintaining an economy rate of 7.66. He was instrumental in CSK’s title-winning campaign in 2023 and became the youngest CSK bowler to take a four-wicket haul in the 2022 edition.
