A passionate cricket fan composed and sang a tribute song for Indian pacer Akash Deep outside Edgbaston following his remarkable 10-wicket haul in the second Test against England. His stellar bowling display played a key role in India’s dominant 336-run victory in Birmingham, helping the visitors level the five-match series 1-1.
Akash Deep was not included in India’s playing XI for the opening Test at Headingley, which they lost by five wickets. However, with Jasprit Bumrah unavailable for the second Test, Akash seized the opportunity and delivered match-winning figures of 4/88 and 6/99.
A video recently surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), capturing a fan performing a song in Akash Deep’s honor outside the Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
“Akash Deep, Akash Deep, Akash Deep, Akash Deep, Bowling England Out Akash Deeep,” the lyrics read.

“Akash Deep Has Been Brilliant with the New Ball” – Stuart Broad After 2nd ENG vs IND 2025 Test
Former England pacer Stuart Broad recently shared his thoughts on the Edgbaston Test, highlighting Akash Deep as the standout performer with the ball. Speaking on Sky Sports, Broad noted that the Indian pacer managed to generate more movement off the pitch than others.
“Akash Deep found the most movement out of everyone. We talk about taller bowlers hitting the surface, but he’s bowled wicket-taking deliveries. Probably the most important ball he bowled in the Test match was the first innings to Harry Brook.”
“Nipped back through the gate with the second new ball. India were then able to blow the tail away. He’s been superb with the new ball, especially challenging the off-stump.”
Stuart Broad believes England’s batters will be worried ahead of the third Test with Bumrah set to return alongside Akash Deep and Siraj.
“I’d be worried about this Indian bowling attack at Lord’s. The ball just nips down that slope and Akash Deep brings the stumps into play from that end and if it swings you’ve got Bumrah who swings it so late. I don’t think you need two spinners at Lord’s necessarily but I think they’ll play the two spinners in the fact that it gives them batting depth,” he added.
