[Watch]- “Got More Grey Hair After Captaincy”- Mahela Jayawardene Takes A Funny Dig At Rohit Sharma

Ahead of IPL 2022, Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma met the members of the coaching staff. In the video posted on social media, MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene can be seen pointing out that Rohit has now got more grey hair due to the pressure of India’s captaincy.

It’s worth noting that Rohit was announced as the All-format captain of Team India in February.  “He’s got more grey hair since taking over the captaincy.”, Jayawardene said. In the video, Rohit can also be seen catching up with bowling coach Shane Bond,  strength & conditioning coach Paul Chapman, fielding coach James Pamment and Assistant strength & conditioning coach Nagendra Prasad.

Rohit Sharma shares his philosophy of captaincy

After the series triumph against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma shared his experience of maiden Test captaincy assignment. Rohit said that he likes to go by his instincts during the game, along with some assistance from the other senior members of the team.

“I have not captained much in red-ball cricket. I have done it in a few games in Ranji Trophy. Captaining in Test matches was a big thing for me. The team supported me a lot. People were telling me what to do and what not to do. There are many seniors in our team who understand the game very well. They were giving their inputs and there was my reading of the game as well. “Eventually, I go by my instincts. My philosophy as captain is that you need to take what you feel is the right decision at a given point in time, keeping the game situation in mind. I try to analyze all these things on the ground.”, Rohit said in the post-match press conference.
