Supernovas won their third Women’s T20 Challenge, beating Velocity by four runs at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Saturday. Meanwhile, Supernovas captain Harmanpeet Kaur had set the stage ablaze with her superlative hitting.

The Indian international played an impactful knock of 43 runs in just 29 deliveries in the mega final. She took on Radha Yadav in the 14th over of the game to break through the shackles. On the second ball of this over, Harmanpreet Kaur went down on her knees and played a slog sweep over midwicket for a six. Radha changed the angle for the next ball but Kaur didn’t stop.

The all-rounder smacked this delivery for a six over long-on. On the next ball, Harmanpreet tried a slog sweep and hit it for a four. Radha Yadav didn’t have any clue where to bowl after she was hit for 16 runs by Harmanpreet Kaur in three consecutive balls.

“Survive the first six overs” – Supernovas’ Dottin reveals her gameplan for the final

The West Indian cricketer has been at the heart of the Supernovas this year, making contributions with both bat and ball. The power-hitter revealed her plan, saying that she wanted to bat the first six overs.

Dottin, in the mid-match interview, said, “The gameplan was to spend as much time at the crease as possible, survive the first six overs. Having a slow start is not always bad. Can’t have a fast start all the time. That was basically the plan. Pitch is pretty good but I think we have enough on the board once we bowl in the right areas and stick to the basics.”
