To eliminate WI from the World Cup Qualifier, the USA quickly uproots Kyle Mayers’ middle stump with a vicious inswinger
In the USA vs. West Indies game, Kyle Phillip’s ferocious delivery rattled Kyle Mayers’ middle stump as a brilliant illustration of fierce competition.
West Indies’ starting pitcher Mayers completely misjudged the pace of Phillip’s delivery during the sixth over of the team’s inning.
The middle stump was knocked out by the pitch. The stump did a cartwheel on the field, shocking the Windies supporters.
On Sunday at the Harare Cricket Club in Harare, Zimbabwe, USA captain Monank Patel won the toss and decided to bowl against the West Indies.
Intriguingly, the US is participating in the qualifier for the first time since 2005 despite never having participated in a World Cup.
Ireland and Sri Lanka were defeated in the warm-up games. But Aaron Jones displayed good form by scoring 89 points off 87 balls against Ireland.
On the other hand, West Indies defeated the UAE by a score of 3-0 earlier this month. This was followed by victories over Scotland in Harare and the UAE in warm-up matches.
In the UAE series, Brandon King led the scoring. And in the two pregame matches in Zimbabwe, Yannic Cariah claimed four wickets.
After such a strong start, the USA might feel a little let down by the fact that they allowed the West Indies to get so close to 300.
