Indian skipper Rohit Sharma hit the ground running at the Edgbaston Cricket Stadium ahead of the limited-overs series against England. He had tested positive for the covid-19 virus last week during the warm-up match against Leicestershire. The right-handed batter did not come out to bat in the second innings of the game. He was in isolation under the care of the BCCI medical team.
The 35-year-old was declared unavailable for the fifth Test match against England. However, he has now recovered and is out of isolation. Rohit Sharma hit the nets to get back into his groove. He faced the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Umesh Yadav in the nets. The BCCI on Monday posted a video on their social media from his net session.

“Yes, Rohit has tested negative and as per medical protocols is now out of quarantine. However, he is not playing today’s T20 warm-up game against Northamptonshire as he will need some recovery time and training ahead of the first T20I,” said a source to PTI on Sunday.
