England is hosting India in the much-awaited five-match Test series, known as the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. While Ben Stokes and his team hold a 1-0 lead after winning the opening Test in Leeds by five wickets, they now face a massive challenge of chasing a 608-run target set by Shubman Gill’s India in the second Test at Birmingham.
As England requires 536 more runs to secure a 2-0 series lead and India needs just seven wickets on the final day, a heartwarming moment from Day 4 has gone viral on social media. Veteran batter Joe Root, despite managing only 28 runs across both innings, earned widespread praise for his thoughtful gesture.
Joe Root Makes 12-Year-Old Fan’s Day
On Day 4, Joe Root briefly stepped away from the intense Test action to create a special moment for a young fan. The 12-year-old, named Ravi, made his way to the field where Root approached him and presented a signed England jersey along with a pair of his own signed gloves.
Notably, Ravi has been blind since birth, but that hasn’t stopped him from passionately supporting his national team. You can watch the video here:
Joe Root is something else ❤️
12-year-old Ravi, who has been blind from birth, had the chance to meet his hero this morning… And he wasn't about to let the opportunity go to waste 😂

The England star read out a message he had written for Ravi, saying:
“To Ravi, keep enjoying this sport and thank you for your support. Best wishes from me.” Just after hearing from Root, Ravi quickly questioned if England was confident of chasing a 400-plus run target. In response, Root said.
“I don’t want to sound arrogant, but we are very confident. I think we can chase anything. We will certainly be giving it a go. We have got a number of players that are very talented, in great form, we have got a lot of confidence so we will take whatever is on.”
