He even smacked Jofra Archer with a classy four down the ground in the 21st over and proved his batting ability.
This self-confidence of Pant did not last long, however, as Archer swiftly adapted to it and immediately conceived a flawless response. Archer shifted his line on the fifth ball of the over and had Pant hitting the top of the off-stump in an absolute beauty of a delivery.

The dismissal led to an angry farewell by Archer, who began to celebrate running by Pant and shouting something angrily in the ear of the Indian batter. The tense scene depicted how competitive the game was and how emotional Archer was after taking a big wicket. The aim of Pant, who had attempted to save the delivery, was left in shock.
That was not the only dispute that was witnessed later in the day, with England captain Ben Stokes trading words with both Nitish Kumar Reddy and Brydon Carse. Heated altercation due to a collision in the middle, which Ravindra Jadeja engaged in was also part of making the match intense.
