England cricketer Johnny Bairstow plucked a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss Will Young in the ongoing test match against New Zealand on Friday at the Lord’s Cricket Ground.
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to bat first. Openers Will Young and Tom Latham opened the innings, while James Anderson began the proceedings with the ball. On the first delivery of the third over, Young poked at a fullish delivery and was caught by Johnny Bairstow.
James Anderson bowled a wide off-stump delivery on a fullish length. Young poked at it with hard hands, as the ball found the outside edge of his bat. The ball kept low as it traveled towards the slip cordon, where it seemed that it will go past the second and third slip. However, Johnny Bairstow, who was at second slip, plucked a one-handed blinder to dismiss the opener.

The New Zealand opener Will Young had to walk back to the pavilion for just one run. The English fielders were overjoyed, as James Anderson picked his first wicket in his comeback test match. A few deliveries later, Bairstow took another brilliant catch to dismiss the other opener Tom Latham.
New Zealand in deep trouble after the end of session one
The New Zealand batters have failed to take advantage of the toss batting first. They have lost more than half of their side in the first session of the first test match against England.
Making his return to the Test squad, James Anderson put up a brilliant show at the Lord’s Cricket Stadium. He dismissed both the New Zealand openers, Tom Latham and Will Young cheaply. The Kiwi batting could not recover from the first two wickets.
Skipper Kane Williamson too failed to make much of an impact and was dismissed for two runs by Matty Potts. The debutant took three wickets in the first session, to reduce New Zealand to 39/6 at the end of the first session.
