[WATCH]- KL Rahul Practices In The Nets To Prepare For The 2024 Duleep Trophy

KL Rahul, Team India’s most senior wicketkeeper-batsman was seen recently practicing for the upcoming 17th edition of the Duldeep Trophy. The 32-year-old will participate in the red-ball domestic tournament and is set to play for Team A led by Shubman Gill during its initial phase.

On August 23rd a video appeared on social media where you could see Rahul batting within nets. His current form is crucial for India ahead of their Test season. After the initial round of the 2024 Duldeep Trophy the stars from Team India are going to face off against Bangladesh in two two-match home Test series. The first match starts in Chennai on September 19th.

Rahul saw no action in the recent three match One Day International series between India and Sri Lanka that took place earlier this month. He scored thirty-one runs from thirty-two balls during the first match. In third fixture, he made twenty duck outs as batting No 7 but was left out of its playing XI team list.

KL Rahul’s latest Instagram post fueled speculation about his retirement on social media

In an Instagram story shared on Thursday, August 22, KL Rahul revealed that he had some news. Within moments, social media turned it into a trending topic with fans speculating if he was about to retire.

It must be noted that another fake screenshot was doing rounds where Rahul announced he’d hang up his boots without any remorse and this further fuelled the hysteria around him retiring old. Nevertheless, this turned out to be false as he was already in training for the impending games.

Duleep Trophy’s first game will see Team A taking on Team B. A Bengaluru match is scheduled for September 5. Besides KL Rahul and Shubman Gill, Team A also has other players such as Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, and Riyan Parag.
