MI’s batting coach, Kieron Pollard, arrived in Chennai with the Mumbai squad to gear up for the highly anticipated match. CSK shared a video on their official Instagram handle, offering fans a glimpse of the fun interaction between Dhoni and Pollard during a practice session.
As two of the most influential match-winners for CSK and MI over the past decade, Dhoni and Pollard have played a pivotal role in shaping the rivalry known as IPL’s El Clásico. In the first slide of the post, the duo is seen sharing a laugh in a photo, while the second slide features a video of their conversation. CSK captioned the post:

Chennai Super Kings’ iconic wicketkeeper-batter, MS Dhoni, showcased his trademark power-hitting in the nets ahead of IPL 2024, striking the ball with precision. A video of his practice session has been making waves on the internet. CSK had missed out on a playoff spot last season.
Ahead of the 2025 edition’s Mega Auction, speculation arose among fans that this could be Dhoni’s final IPL season. However, with the BCCI reinstating an old, unused rule, he was eligible to be retained as an uncapped player, with a salary cap set at ₹4 crore.
