Mumbai Indians secure a spot in the WPL 2025 final
Mumbai Indians defeated Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator of WPL 2025 to secure a spot in the final, marking their second appearance in three seasons. After finishing second in the points table following a loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their final league-stage match, MI had to compete in the Eliminator.
However, Harmanpreet Kaur’s side delivered a dominant performance in the knockout clash. Batting first, MI put up a formidable total of 213/4, powered by stellar knocks from Hayley Matthews and Nat Sciver-Brunt, both scoring 77 runs.
Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur provided a fiery finish with an explosive 36 off just 12 balls. Matthews then shone with the ball as well, claiming three wickets, while Amelia Kerr picked up two. MI bowled Gujarat Giants out for 166, sealing a comfortable 47-run victory.

Mumbai Indians will now take on Delhi Capitals in the WPL 2025 final on Saturday, March 15, at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Having won the league’s inaugural edition in 2023, they will be aiming for their second title.
