MS Dhoni Makes A Heartwarming Gesture By Giving The Match Ball To A Young Fan

In Sunday’s clash against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, MS Dhoni, the seasoned wicketkeeper-batter for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), captivated the audience with his outstanding performance.

Entering the crease in the final over, he delivered an impressive cameo, hitting three consecutive sixes off Hardik Pandya, boosting CSK’s total to 206-4. Dhoni’s display wasn’t just about cricket; he also left a memorable impression with a heartwarming gesture.

As he hurried up the iconic Wankhede stairs to prepare for his wicketkeeping duties, he paused to pick up a ball near the caged barrier, showcasing his sportsmanship and connection with the fans. Dhoni stopped going up the stairs, grabbed the ball, and gave it to a kid on the other side of the fence before going back to the dressing room.

MS Dhoni remained not out on 20 runs from just four balls, achieving an incredible strike rate of 500. His performance left a lasting mark at a venue that holds great significance for him, possibly marking his final appearance there.

In IPL 2024, MS Dhoni has hit six sixes in only 25 deliveries

Due to the strong batting lineup in both the top and middle order, and considering Dhoni’s recent absence from competitive cricket, he has mostly embraced a lower batting position. Consequently, the experienced player has faced just 25 deliveries throughout the tournament, with most of them occurring during the match against the Delhi Capitals in Vizag.

In his brief innings of 37 runs from 16 balls, Dhoni hit three sixes during an aggressive display against Anrich Nortje. With his additional three sixes against MI, he now totals six sixes for the season.

MI have begun their chase strongly, capitalizing on the dew factor and the excellent form of their opening batsmen. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan have been effortlessly hitting boundaries, enabling MI to accumulate 53 runs in the initial five overs.
