Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni has already begun his preparation for the upcoming edition of IPL at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The veteran, who was accompanied by a couple of domestic cricketers, was seen tonking sixes during a training session to gear up for IPL 2021.
The Super Kings are one of the first franchises to start preparing for an IPL season and this year also, it has been no different. More so, they have the hunger inside themselves after finishing seventh in the UAE failing to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in the history of the competition. The absence of senior cricketers – Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh changed the complexion of the side which hurt them badly.
This time around they have tried to solve their problems and added a couple of all-rounders to their line-ups. They roped in former Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham for a whopping ₹9.25 crores as they were in dire need of a finger spinner after Harbhajan Singh parted ways ahead of the auction. They also signed England all-rounder Moeen Ali along with Cheteshwar Pujara to strengthen their batting.

Recently, CSK’s official Instagram handle shared a video of their skipper MS Dhoni’s big sixes from the training session, which left his teammates mesmerised. Incidentally, the 39-year-old has returned to training for the first time since IPL 2020 and looked in ominous touch enough for the Chennai fans to be happy about.
