Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni has kickstarted his preparations for the upcoming IPL 2022, slated to commence in the last week of March. While there were speculations about his future, CSK retained their favourite star.
While former India captain MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket in 2019, he remains one of the top draws in the cash-rich league. The wicketkeeper-batter has started his preparation for the forthcoming edition.
MS Dhoni was recently spotted batting in the nets. A video of the same was shared by one of the player’s fans on Monday, and it has since gone viral on social media.

MS Dhoni was seen playing some front-foot drives as he prepares for the big occasion. Incidentally, the celebrated cricketer has not played any cricket since winning the title in IPL 2021. The former India captain will aim to hit the strides ahead of the mega competition, which is expected to be his last appearance in the tournament.
The 40-year-old has featured in 220 matches so far in his IPL career, in which he has amassed 4746 runs at an impressive average of 39.5. He also has 23 half-centuries under his belt.
CSK retain Dhoni, Jadeja, Moeen and Ruturaj for IPL 2022
The four-time IPL franchise have retained Ravindra Jadeja (INR 16 crore), MS Dhoni (INR 12 crore), Moeen Ali (INR 8 crore) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (INR 6 crore) ahead of the much-awaited IPL 2022 mega auction.
The Super Kings will enter the IPL 2022 auction with a purse of INR 48 crore and 21 slots to fill.
The IPL 2022 mega auction is scheduled to take place on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru.
