Former India cricketer MS Dhoni is gearing up for his cricket return at the Jharkhand Cricket Association International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. He was recently spotted batting in the nets, along with the Jharkhand players. MS Dhoni retired from International cricket a couple of years back. However, he has continued to play in the Indian Premier League.
The wicket-keeper batter was last seen on the ground playing for the Chennai Super Kings in the 2022 Indian Premier League season. He took the leadership duties of the team, mid-way into the season. MS Dhoni is likely to continue his association with the Chennai Super Kings in next year’s Indian Premier League.
A video of his training session has gone viral on social media. In the video, Dhoni is practicing alongside other Jharkhand players, who are currently participating in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022. Fans speculate that the former cricketer is training for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League.

I wanted to bat like Sachin Tendulkar: MS Dhoni
Former India skipper MS Dhoni has always expressed his admiration for legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. During a recent interaction in a school, MS Dhoni revealed that Sachin Tendulkar has always been his role model. He added that he wanted to bat like the Mumbai cricketer, but realized that he cannot.
“My cricketing role model has always been Sachin Tendulkar. I was exactly like you guys, I used to watch Sachin Tendulkar play and wanted to bat like him. Later on, I realized I can’t play like him but inside my heart, I always wanted to play like him. He was my cricketing idol growing up,” said MS Dhoni in a video shared by the Chennai Super Kings on social media.
