Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar displayed his batting masterclass in the ongoing Road Safety World Series 2022. He opened the innings for India Legends in the 14th match against England Legends on Thursday, September 22 in Dehradun.

The 49-year-old wreaked havoc among England’s bowlers. He started with a classy four off Stephen Parry after being asked to bat first. Chris Tremlett came over to bowl the third over. Sachin Tendulkar went bonkers and destroyed him with two sixes and one four. At one point, his strike rate touched 264.

Just when he looked comfortable, Chris Schofield showed him the way to the dressing room. He was caught and bowled by Schofield. He finished his innings at 40(20) with a strike of 200. Tendulkar’s short, explosive innings have sent a wave of nostalgia among the fans.

People are awe-struck on social media, seeing glimpses of master blaster’s true old great self. A Twitter user also demanded that BCCI should name Sachin as a backup opener for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Here are a few Twitter reactions:

India Legends won the match by 40 runs over England Legends. The game was cut short to 15 overs per side due to excessive rain. Sachin Tendulkar (40) and Yuvraj Singh (31) led India to a total of 170 runs. During the chase, England had a stable start but was startled by India’s bowling attack. They fell short by 40 runs and lost the game. India Legends are table toppers in the ongoing season of the Road Safety World Series.
