Mumbai batter and Kolkata Knight Riders player Angkrish Raghuvanshi was taken to hospital after sustaining a serious injury while fielding in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Uttarakhand on Friday, December 26. The incident occurred in Jaipur, where Raghuvanshi had to be stretchered off the field and shifted to SDMH Hospital for CT scans.
As per reports, the injury was sustained while he attempted a difficult catch, during which he hurt his head and shoulder. The incident took place in the 30th over of Uttarakhand’s innings, with Tanush Kotian bowling to Saurabh Rawat. The batter went for a slog sweep, resulting in a top edge.
Fielding at deep mid-wicket, Raghuvanshi sprinted in and dived in an effort to complete the catch. However, he struck his head on the ground and was seen in considerable discomfort afterward. You can watch the video here:

Angkrish Raghuvanshi Stretchered Off After Fielding Injury
Mumbai teammates and medical personnel immediately attended to Raghuvanshi, who remained crouched for a while before collapsing to the ground in pain. The 21-year-old was soon stretchered off the field and taken to hospital. While arrangements were being made, he appeared to have difficulty moving his neck.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi has since been placed under observation at SDMH Hospital, where the required medical tests are being carried out.

Raghuvanshi opened the batting for Mumbai alongside Rohit Sharma in the first innings but struggled at the crease, scoring just 11 runs off 20 balls. Rohit also failed to make an impact, getting out for a duck. The Mumbai opener is currently considered one of Indian cricket’s most promising talents and was retained by KKR ahead of the IPL 2026 season.
He has featured in 22 matches for the franchise over two seasons, accumulating 463 runs, including two half-centuries. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy opener, he had made 38 runs against Sikkim.
