Mumbai Indiansโ (MI) players appeared to have a great time as they bonded over a team dinner ahead of their second IPL 2025 match. The teamโs bowling and batting coaches, Lasith Malinga and Kieron Pollard, were also in attendance, as seen in a video shared by the franchise on social media.
Several players were spotted enjoying a game of cards, smiling and laughing throughout. Meanwhile, bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar humorously interacted with a dog, adding to the lively atmosphere.
Chahar was one of Mumbai Indiansโ standout performers in their previous match, where they suffered a four-wicket defeat to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Mumbai Indians extended their streak of losing the opening match of the tournament, a trend that dates back to 2012. However, they will gain a significant boost with the return of Hardik Pandya, who is set to lead the team against Gujarat Titans on Saturday, March 29. The all-rounder was unavailable for their first game due to a slow over-rate penalty carried over from the previous season.
Gujarat Titans Dominate Head-to-Head Record Against Mumbai Indians
Gujarat Titans lead the head-to-head record against Mumbai Indians 3-2, having won the last two encounters between the teams, though they faced each other only once last season. However, the 2022 IPL champions began their 2025 campaign with a loss to the Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
Despite conceding a massive 243-run total, Shubman Gill and his team were in contention during the chase but fell short in the final moments, losing by 11 runs. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, who struggled with the bat against Chennai Super Kings, will be eager to make an impact against the Titans in Ahmedabad.
