Mushfiqur Rahim‘s dismissal against New Zealand in a bizarre fashion left social media in astonishment. Bangladesh batter Mushfiqur Rahim was bizarrely dismissed during the third one-day international against New Zealand at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
In the 16th over, Rahim attempted to kick the ball away from his stumps after chopping a delivery from Lockie Ferguson. Unfortunately, the ball struck the stumps while Rahim was trying to save himself from dismissal.
The dismissal caused some confusion, but it was ultimately ruled as bowled by the umpires. This unusual event occurred after Bangladesh’s captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, won the toss and chose to bat.
Mushfiqur Rahim’s soccer skills didn’t help as he got bowled in an unconventional manner. You can watch the video here:

In a bid to secure the series, Bangladesh reintroduced key players Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Shoriful Islam after initially resting them. Liton Das, who led in the first two matches, was given a rest, and Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, and Mustafizur Rahman were excluded.
New Zealand made two changes, giving an ODI debut to Dean Foxcroft in place of Chad Bowes and bringing in Adam Milne for Kyle Jamieson. This match serves as the final opportunity for both teams to prepare before the World Cup commences in India on October 5.
