“Definitely a special innings” – Cameron Green on his attacking approach
Cameron Green was awarded the Player of the Match award for his brilliant knock of 77 runs in 109 balls on a spinner friendly track where it was difficult to survive. Green came into bat when Australia was struggling at 100/4. Nathan Lyon picked up nine wickets in the match which included a fifer in first innings.
Cameron Green revealed that he wanted to bat with an attacking mindset on this pitch. Green said, “Yeah definitely a special innings. Good first game. A few guys said just to be proactive. If you go out there just defending, you get yourself in trouble. Looking to score is how you give yourself the best chance. You’re gonna get out at some point so you might as well play some shots.”
