[Watch]- Rashid Khan Rattles Kieron Pollard’s Stumps With His Leg-Spin

Mumbai Indians all-rounder Kieron Pollard’s struggle in the Indian Premier League 2022 season continued against the Gujarat Titans. He was dismissed cheaply by spinner Rashid Khan.

Batting first, the Mumbai Indians got off to a flying start. Openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan slammed 63 runs in the powerplay. Rohit Sharma looked in absolute great touch, taking on the Gujarat Titans bowlers. However, his stay at the crease was ended by Rashid Khan. Following his wicket, the Mumbai Indians started to lose momentum.

Kieron Pollard walked out at the crease, after the fall of Ishan Kishan’s wicket. However, the all-rounder’s innings could not take off. He struggled to get going in the middle. In the fifteenth over, Rashid Khan castled the right-hander’s stumps to send him back to the pavilion. After a couple of googlies, Rashid bowled a full delivery, which turned away slightly from Kieron Pollard. The all-rounder came forward to drive but missed the ball, which crashed onto the stumps.

Kieron Pollard’s stay at the crease lasted for 14 deliveries scoring four runs, at a dismal strike rate of 28.57. This season, Pollard averages just 14.33 in ten matches, scoring 129 runs at a strike rate of 109.32. The all-rounder’s poor run has also contributed to Mumbai Indians’ disastrous first phase of the Indian Premier League 2022 season.

Gujarat Titans get off to a flying start

The Gujarat Titans have got off to a brilliant start, chasing 178 runs against the Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium. Opener Wriddhiman Saha has taken the attack to the opposition bowlers. He has slammed 37* runs off 23 balls, including five boundaries and two sixes.

On the other end, Shubman Gill has gone about his business quietly. He is unbeaten on 16 runs off 13 balls. The Gujarat Titans have managed to put on 54 runs in the powerplay. They need 124 runs off the remaining 14 overs to register their ninth win of the season and qualify for the playoffs.
