[WATCH]- Ravindra Jadeja’s Remarkable One-Handed Catch Dismisses KL Rahul In The LSG vs CSK Match

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja took a spectacular one-handed catch to dismiss KL Rahul in their IPL 2024 match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.

The catch by the Saurashtra cricketer prevented the LSG captain from reaching a well-deserved century. The dismissal occurred in the 18th over of the innings, delivered by Matheesha Pathirana.

Although the Karnataka batsman struck the short and wide delivery hard, the left-hander was equal to the task. Jadeja dove to his right and managed to catch the ball out of thin air, bringing an end to Rahul’s innings at 82.

The TV umpire reviewed the catch multiple times to confirm its cleanliness. However, the celebrations were subdued as the match had already slipped away from their control.

Ravindra Jadeja’s undefeated fifty is useless as CSK suffers their third loss of the season

The 35-year-old all-rounder previously scored an unbeaten 57 to lead the Chennai Super Kings to a competitive total of 176-6. The spin-bowling all-rounder was elevated to No.4 after the defending champions lost Rachin Ravindra (0) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (17) cheaply.

Rahane departed for 36, leaving the Super Kings struggling with half the side down as the death overs approached. However, a 50-run partnership between Jadeja and Moeen Ali, who contributed a 20-ball 30 with three sixes, revived the innings.

Later, MS Dhoni’s quickfire 29 off just eight deliveries pushed their total beyond 170. Krunal Pandya emerged as the standout bowler for LSG, claiming figures of 3-0-16-2.

The opening duo of Rahul and Quinton de Kock laid the foundation for the home team with a 134-run partnership. Mustafizur Rahman dismissed De Kock for 54. Nicholas Pooran sealed the victory for the home side in the 19th over.
