Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) spinner Suyash Sharma visited the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) dressing room to reunite with his former teammates ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season opener. The first match of the tournamentโs 18th edition is set to take place on Saturday, March 22, at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The 21-year-old leg-spinner was part of KKR for the past two seasons. In IPL 2023, he played 11 matches and claimed 10 wickets. However, his role was minimal in the 2024 season, where KKR, led by Shreyas Iyer, emerged as champions.
Suyash Sharma is featured in only two games and failed to take a wicket, leading to his release before the 2025 mega auction. RCB acquired the young spinner for INR 2.60 crore at the auction. With the 2025 season opener featuring RCB against KKR, Suyash was spotted reconnecting with his former teammates.
KKRโs official X handle shared a video of the moment, captioned:

Rain Threatens KKR vs RCB IPL 2025 Opener
Excitement is building as fans gear up for the IPL 2025 opener, where Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Both teams have seen major changes, with Ajinkya Rahane set to captain KKR following Shreyas Iyerโs release before the auction.
Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar will make his debut as RCB captain, with former skipper Faf du Plessis now the vice-captain of Delhi Capitals (DC). The anticipation for the match is immense, and a large crowd is expected.
However, rain could disrupt the much-awaited clash, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an โorange alertโ for parts of West Bengal. Thunderstorms and lightning are predicted over the weekend, raising concerns of possible delays or even a washout affecting both the opening ceremony and the match.
