[WATCH]- Rishabh Pant Falls For 7 After Playing Poor Shot, Wastes Review In 2nd Test vs SA 2025

India captain Rishabh Pant was dismissed cheaply while trying an ambitious shot off South African pacer Marco Jansen on Day 3 (Monday, November 24) of the second Test at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The wicket fell on the second ball of the 38th over of India’s first innings.

Jansen bowled a length delivery, and Pant stepped down the track for a big slog but only managed a faint edge to the wicketkeeper. The umpire gave him out, and Pant chose to review, but the Snickometer confirmed the edge, resulting in a wasted review for the captain. You can watch the video here:

Rishabh Pant was dismissed for only seven runs off eight balls, which included a six. His wicket left India in trouble at 105/5 after 37.2 overs.

India Lose Five Wickets As Rishabh Pant Fails To Make An Impact On Day 3 Of 2nd Test

India started Day 3 of the second Test at 9/0 after 6.1 overs, with KL Rahul on 2 and Yashasvi Jaiswal on 7. The openers began cautiously, handling a tricky early spell, and put together a 65-run partnership before Rahul was dismissed for 22 off 63 balls by Keshav Maharaj.

Jaiswal reached his fifty but couldn’t build on it, falling for 58 off 97 balls to Simon Harmer, who claimed his first wicket of the innings. Sai Sudharsan (15) and Dhruv Jurel (0) failed to make an impact, and India went to tea at 102/4 after 36 overs.  After the break, Rishabh Pant was out for seven, leaving India five down.

At that stage, India were 116/5 after 41 overs, with Ravindra Jadeja on 3 and Nitish Kumar Reddy on 10. Earlier, South Africa posted a commanding 489 in their first innings after opting to bat, with Senuran Muthusamy shining with 109 off 206 balls, including 10 fours and two sixes.
