Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant had a great outing against England in the first ODI match on Tuesday at the Kennington Oval in London. He was at his mighty best with the gloves behind the stumps. Pant took an outstanding catch to dismiss Ben Stokes in the first innings of the match off Mohammed Shami.

Ben Stokes walked out to bat at a crucial juncture when England was 6/2 and needed a partnership. However, he couldn’t do anything to help England’s cause. The all-rounder was dismissed for a golden duck, leaving England reeling at 7/3. In the third over, Mohammed Shami bowled a back-of-a-length delivery around the off stump.

The ball seamed in sharply and took the inside edge of Ben Stokes’ bat. It flew to the right of Rishabh Pant, who waited and timed his dive perfectly to take a fantastic one-handed catch. This was Rishabh Pant’s second catch in the match. He took a simple catch to dismiss Joe Root earlier in the match.

England gets off to a horrid start against India in the ODI series

The England cricket team has lost half of its team for just 26 runs on the board. They have failed to counter Jasprit Bumrah’s sharp bowling. Liam Livingstone was the pacer’s latest victim. Bumrah bowled a yorker-length delivery, to which Livingstone danced down the track, only to completely miss the delivery. The ball went on to rattle his stumps, sending him back to the hut.

This is England’s fourth duck in the innings. Opener Jason Roy, Joe Root, and Ben Stokes are the other three batters to get out for a duck. Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant has taken three catches so far in the innings. Earlier in the match, the Indian team won the toss and opted to bowl first. So far, their bowling has proved to that be a spot-on decision.
